Where's best place to stay near volcano big island besides volcano house?
Hi, I'm confused about where to stay to see the volcano late January.
Heard volcano house is great but it is booked.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Preferably one with a restaurant for convenience.

A few years ago we stayed here for 4 nights during Merrie Monarch and loved our stay, if it is available. Two of those nights we got take out Thai food and two nights I cooked.

It was perfect to enjoy the park early mornings and later evenings when the daytrippers depart.
Although you might not be able to stay at the military camp, I think you can eat in their mess hall???
There is also a new restaurant in the Village that is getting some good buzz. You can also visit Volcano House and enjoy a meal and libation without staying there.

Thanks! Volcano House and chalet Kilauea were booked so we found an Airbnb house in vnp. We'll try doing at the Volcano house and chalet Kilauea.
Now where to stay for our last three nights somewhere in the sunnier area of big island?
Fairmont fully booked.
Four seasons seems confusing and woah so pricey which usually isn't a problem, but 2,000+ for a one bedroom suite isn't in my price range.
Thank you
