Where to vacation Dec 26-Jan 5 - a warm place (a little contest going on!)

My fiance and I are starting to plan a vacation for after Christmas. I said, "You go somewhere for 15 min and try to come up a place we can go for a vacation, and I will too... We'll reconvene in 15 minutes!" Price (at this point) no object. Destination - Somewhere warm. St. Martin Island is OUT. (I honeymooned there previously!). Thank you!

It's warm in Key West then? Hawaii I thought of, but it's kind of far for us (East Coast US)... I'll look into Key West! I've been searching on Fodors... Some places are St. Thomas, St. John, Puerto Rico, Cancun, Australia and NZ.... thanks emalloy! I'll keep checking back here. We'll meet in a few minutes to compare notes and then resume online.

My first thought was Cancun. For farther south, maybe warmer check the Panama Canal. There are cruises that go through the canal.

I've been there three times now--love it!

Hawaii is a lot closer than Australia or New Zealand, though NZ would be gorgeous that time of year.

Um - is there some reason you're tagged New York. I love the city - but there's no way it's warm here.

It would help to know what you want besides warm.

Do you just want to sit on a beach? or are you looking for history and cultural activities as well?

Depends on your interests of course, but Costa Rica or the Yucatan Peninsula should be on your short list.
