We will be visiting family for a long weekend in a couple of weeks, and wondered about some hotel rec's for the Waukesha, WI area. Chains are fine, just looking for a nice, clean, pleasant place to stay. TIA!
Where to stay in Waukesha, WI?

i would go on trip advisor and check out reviews there.
I have a client in New Berlin, right outside of Waukesha. There is a "brand new" (ok, so it's about 2-3 yrs old) LaQuinta (used to be a Baymont) in New Berlin. It's conviently located to downtown (10 mins) - W'sha (5 mins), it has a couple of restaurants and a move theatre next door, and it is very clean. Great rates too! Check the internet for the best rates (and then call and confirm). I have to say, the staff is so nice - they always greet me by name when I arrive and have my favorite room waiting for me. They have a pretty good b'fast - waffles and other cont'l items - and an indoor pool.
Check out Brookfield, Anything on Bluemound Road is very close to Waukesha. There are nice restaurant and chains and lots of shopping on Bluemound or Morland road. You should be able to get a deal on hotwire or priceline in that area too. If I remember right there are a couple extended stay places right off the expressway too, if you want something without the amenities. We live in Madison but all my husbands relatives are in Brookfield and Waukesha.
