Looking to book a weekend in Feb. '12 for my husbands 30th. Hope to get some friends to come along to celebrate and imagine most people would feel comfortable paying around $100/night somewhere. Want a good location on the strip and a nice room - doesn't have to be the most luxurious, but clean and updated.
Also - what show should we see and any fun, moderately priced restaurants and clubs should we celebrate at?
TIA for any suggestions you may have,
Shelly

I always loved this site for many reasons, but mainly b/c from the strip map, you could click on each hotel and along with the "cheapo" review, there was a direct link to the hotels' own websites. That feature--the link--no longer seems to be present, but I still like the map (not to scale, BTW, so don't be fooled by distances).

Try Bally's. You'll get a big room in a great location. Rooms are usually cheaper Sun-Thu and sometimes get cheaper as check-in date approaches. If you book now, check shortly before your travel date. If the rate is lower, call and ask for the lower rate. They always give it to us.

lasvegaseventsandshows.com also good
Hooters hotel... used to be San Remo... good location and amazing prices... no kidding!
Monte Carlo, small casino/hotel will make it easy to find each other. I had a great stay there, clean, good food, easy to get around, in your price range. Have fun, ziggypop
$100 won't get you much on a weekend in February. Maybe Bill's, or the Excalibur. Bill's has the better location. Shows are also very expensive, the popular ones are not at the discount ticket booths on weekends. Expect to pay something in the neighborhood of $175 for good seats to "O" or"Mystere".
