Where to stay in Phoenix/Scottsdale/surrounding area?
I am taking my mom on vacation in August to the Phoenix area. We will be there three days and I would like to find a very nice hotel with a nice pool area and spa. Any suggestions?

Somewhat related (at least to the question posed as the title)...how about a family with young children vacationing in that area over Thanksgiving? We are seeking a resort with a great pool and something out of the ordinary for the kids. Budget is up to $300/night for one room.
We figure we will laze by the pool for part of the day, visit with nearby relatives, and probably return for dinner. We want the short trip to feel like a vacation, though, thus the interest in a "resort."

I would start a new thread with your question but I suggest either of the Point Hiltons in the area for great pools for the kids.
