We normally vacation in South Florida, but this year would like to try the Alabama coast or Florida panhandle. Any suggestions for a town to stay?
We will have three kids (8,5, and a baby). We like laying on the beach, swimming in beach and pool, and eating good seafood. We don't need kids programs, and would like to stay in a condo or apartment.

Depends on what you are looking for. The beaches all along the panhandle are beautiful. From Panama City and further west (Destin, Ft. Walton, Gulf Shores) are the really hot spots right now. East of Panama City the beaches are much quieter (Mexico Beach, Port St. Joe, Cape San Blas, Appalachicola, St. George). My family vacations every spring in Mexico Beach and loves it, but it may be too quiet for some.
There are good seafood restaurants all along the panhandle coast.
I take several mini-vacations every year to the Florida Panhandle and to the Alabama coast. My favorite three areas are (1) Seaside, FL (very charming upscale small community with an "old time" flavor. Great place to rent a cottage or a house), (2) Destin, FL (this place has good dining, golf courses, shopping and deep sea fishing), and (3) Orange Beach, AL (similar to Destin, but somewhat "quieter" and more relaxed than Destin). I have two nice condos in Orange Beach that I rent out. Thus, I'm very familar with Orange Beach. Feel free to e-mail me if you need further information.
From what I understand, the Gulf Shores area very specifically targets families with young children. Very family oriented.
