I'm heading to Omaha in September for a weekend, and wondering where I should stay. Unfortunately, the Hilton is fully booked already. I'm leaning toward the Holiday Inn on Miracle Hills, but am totally open to suggestion!
Thanks!!

Texas & the Deep South Road Trip Feb/March 2013

We stayed at the Embassy Suites a few years ago, and it was very nice (they are all the same, but it was still nice.) There were free evening drinks, and there's a pool. Omaha isn't very big, so it was fairly close to dining & the zoo.
Depends on what you wanted to do the Embassy Suites is downtown and close to the Old Market area. If you are coming for an event at the Qwest Center it is in walking distance. If the area isn't that important there is a fairly new Hampton Suites around 126th and Giles Road across from Cabelas with easy interstate access. Holiday Inn on 72 & Grover is putting in an indoor waterpark which maybe open by then.
Embassy Suites in the Old Market area is a good choice. The Old Market is a great place for walking around.
If you want to be close to the Qwest Center and the Old Market and those areas are booked... just across the river is Harrah's Casino Hotel and Ameristar Hotel (Triple A 4 Diamond) as well as Hampton and Holiday Inn, and a brand new Springhill Suites you are only a 5 minute drive from downtown Omaha as well as access to the 3 casinos, Bass Pro Shops etc.
Thanks everyone. The Embassy Suites is also sold out (I wonder what's going on in Omaha then).
Thanks for the ideas!
The Doubletree downtown I believe was renovated not to long ago however I know there is a convention there the weekend of 9/7-9/9. The end of the month is busy at the Qwest Center with a rodeo and concerts.

Have you tried the Hiton Garden Inn on the corner of Dodge and 10th just north of the Hilton? We stayed there last week. Very nice. Within two blocks of the Embassy Suites on the same street so all of the Old Market/Zoo/Museum/Quest Center still within the same area. They also have a 24 hour/day shuttle.
There is also a Marriott Courtyard in the Old Market area. Nothing fancy, but in a great location.
