Where To Stay in LES

Hello,

I'm visiting NYC in July and would ideally like to stay in LES. My partner and I have stayed there before in a private rental and love love love the area -- does anyone have any suggestions for less pricey hotels in the area? I know about hotel on rivington but can't afford it ...
Thanks in advance!

Alison

My daughter has , for the last 10 days, stayed at Second Home on Second Ave (www.secondhomesecondavenue.com). She's loved it, the area is fabulous (she's in her 20's) the only down side being the shared bathroom situation, but they knew about that at the booking stage. There are en suite room available.

I lived in the LES for 5 years (recently) and I don't recall any other hotels other than the Hotel Rivington. You might have find a rental. Have you tried craigslist.org? There is an apartment swap section there where people often want to swap for a week or so for vacation purposes or longer.

Hi again. I just thought of a place. There is a Howard Johnson on East Houston b/n 2nd Ave and 1st generally. It's right near the 2nd Ave F stop on the subway. Rooms there will run you around $199, but maybe you can get a special deal.

There's a new place called The Blue Moon, I think? They just had an article in the Times a few weeks ago about it. I'll try to find the link.
