Where to stay in Arkansas on the way to Tulsa from Central Mississippi

Planning a last minute trip to Tulsa from Central MS to see the Oklahoma Sugar Art Show. Taking some friends from Germany and would like to find a nice drive through Arkansas and a good stopping point midway (2 night stay in AR). Am interested in Mountain View; possibly seeing Blanchard Springs Cavern while there, but am open to other suggestions/routes. Not familiar with Arkansas at all. Can anyone offer suggestions for routes/stopping point/area of interest? Thanks in advance.

Mount Magazine State Park Lodge-Stunning new facility, indoor pool, huge mountain views, lots of hiking. Food is fine and ok in the lodge dining room, just don't expect gourmet. Hike to the tallest point in Arkansas

Great upscale cabin rentals(bill clinton stayed in one of them)lots of great hiking, good mountain views. This is a very scenic hwy to travel. If you happen to be there when it has rained for a few days there are some superb waterfalls in this area.

Petit Jean State Park is great. The lodge their is being refurbished this year, so I don't know if cabins or lodging is available there. Great hikes, views, lake. Awesome waterfall at this park.

Mt Nebo is another good place for hiking with Mountain views, but there is no lodging there.

If you are interested in any of these I can recommend hikes at each place--especially The Bufflo River area.

If you are adventurous go for the wild cave tour at the caverns. I have done several wild cave tours, but not this one. It would be awesome.

The above suggestions are good.

If you are more interested in a town, I would suggest Eureka Springs. A lot of people like Hot Springs as well.

The NW section of Arkansas--pretty much the part north of I-30--is the most scenic--hilly and wooded.

Eureka Springs is very liberal. I like Hot Springs especially when the horses are running at Oak Lawn.

I assume that Connie meant I-40.

Hwy 7 is very scenic all the way from Hot Springs going 100+ miles north.

Thanks for the replies/info! Leaning towards the Buffalo River area...ran across those cabins the other day browsing.
