Can anyone tell me where to find the nicest suites in Charleston? My husband and I (and our 14 month old daughter) would like to plan a trip for the month of March, but we need to find a suite with either 2 bedrooms and a living area or, at a minimum, 1 bedroom and a separate living area. My daughter goes to sleep early, so we need a separate space where we can hang out for the evening. I looked online at the Doubletree suites and while the location is excellent, I'm a little concerned about the rooms. They looked a bit drab and dated in the photos I saw.
Any suggestions? We haven't been on a vacation in months, so we'd like to stay someplace nice.
Thank you!!
Katherine

Trip report Acadia and Bar Harbor (from July)

The nicest in the historic district are these

or the suite here:

Your other alternative would be a beach condo. Sea Cabins on Isle of Palms fits your specs, but they're individually owned, so if you want something recently updated you have to make that clear.
Several years ago we stayed at the Doubletree Suites in the Historic District. It is in a great location right across from the market.
I will look into your suggestions.
Thanks for taking the time to reply!!
You might check out the Lodge Alley Inn. My parents and sister stayed there in two different units. You can rent directly through vrbo or through Blue Green Resorts, I think. The location can't be beat - right on East Bay - and they have different layouts. I believe that the units are individually owned, so looking at pictures is probably recommended. There's a Harris Teeter grocery a few blocks away to stock things you might like to have available, especially with a toddler.
