Where to stay for Kenyon and Oberlin Colleges?

Our friends are taking their granddaughter on a college tour including Kenyon and Oberlin Colleges, and they've asked for help in finding lodging. They're not big fans of B&Bs, but those seem to be the better options for staying close to the campus in either town.

Gambier is tiny, so I suppose I should widen the search to include Mt. Vernon. Can anyone comment on the Kenyon Inn? What about the Oberlin Inn? Tripadvisor reviews of both are mixed but also not very recent.

TIA.

We love the White Oak Inn in Danville, Ohio! According to their website, they are only 15 minutes away from Kenyon. We usually stay in the guest house or a cottage.

As far as Oberlin, I can't really recommend it because I've never stayed there, but here is a link to The Oberlin Inn:

Oh sorry...you've already looked at the Oberlin Inn. Do encourage them to check out the White Oak Inn, though!!
