I am looking to go to Devil's Head to do some skiing in January '06. As it is also my fiance's birthday then so I thought I would turn the trip into a weekend getaway of sorts. Does anyone know of lodging in the Devil's Head/Merrimac area that would be conducive to a "romantic" winter getaway (i.e., nice condo, small hotel or B&B with fireplace and jacuzzi in the room)?

Oops--when I posted this I was in the Wisconsin forum so I thought it would only show up there. Thanks for the heads up.
There is no "Wisconsin" forum, just one large United States one. What you did was clicked on Wisconsin to assist the indexing of this thread for search purposes. It's a common misteak <g>
I don't know any names but I have seen ( while driving through the area) some really cute Bed and Breakfast places in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Perhaps someone has some specific names or you could do a search on Baraboo. Baraboo is close to Devil's Head and more quiet than the Wisconsin Dells area.
Hi Lotus,
For a special weekend getaway, you might want to consider renting the Seth Peterson Cottage, located close to Devil's Head on Mirror Lake. It is a Frank Lloyd Wright designed cottage, his last commission. It has been lovingly resorted and is now rented out. It has a large stone fireplace and lots of windows.

Hope you and your fiance have a special weekend, SusanEva
