Where to go to celebrare 1 yr. anniv

Hi All,

My husband and I are looking to celebrate our 1 year anniversary the weekend of July 26. We thought of Martha's Vineyard but it's turning out too expensive. We live in Miami and frequent the Caribbean so we wanted something different. Because we are looking to do 2/3nights only, west coast is not really good. Does anyone have any suggestions?

For great time, romantic inns/B&Bs, wonderful restaurants and vineyards, beautiful sand dune beaches, gorgeous sunsets, antique shopping, art galleries, etc. consider this area:

It's about 90 minute drive from Chicago.

What about the Cloisters at Sea Island in Georgia or savannah? I've never been to either, but the cloisters looks beautiful and savannah seems to have a a romantic southern appeal to it.

We stayed at the Marquesa in Key West and love it, also the Arbor House in Black Mountain, North Carolina.

The mountains would be cooler at that time of year, particularly areas at a higher elevation. I haven't stayed there, but liked the looks of The Swag, in Waynesville, NC or The Inn on Montford (check out the Cloisters or Rosetti!). We stayed at the Mast Farm Inn in Valle Crucis last yr in Sept & it was 20 degrees cooler than SC! Also, the Gideon Ridge Inn in Blowing Rock, NC looks lovely.
