Where to get married?
I'm looking for recommendations on where would be a great romantic location to get married. It will be just the two of us and we have both been married before. We are open to basically anywhere in the world, but we are looking for a non-beach and non-vegas setting. Thanks for the help!

I think we need more info, Chris. Will you spend your honeymoon (if so, how long) at this destination? No beach, no Vegas but what?? City, country, time of year, what do you like? In doors, outdoors? You get my drift.

Let me try and narrow it down...
Ideally we would spend the honeymoon there, but it's not a necessity. The total trip would be between 7-10 days. The date hasn't been set yet, but we are thinking between Feb - May. Not looking for a city environment, something more naturally scenic...i.e. mountains. We are flexible on if it is inside or outside as I realize the month we pick could impact this. We would be thinking either somewhere in the states or in Europe. I will continue to try and decrease the vagueness...

My choice would be Yosemite - many beautiful outdoor locations within the park, or indoors at the historic chapel. A search on weddings in Yosemite will give you a lot in information. It may be a little on the cool side, weatherwise, but the waterfalls in the spring are spectacular (I'm thinking May). Whatever your choice, best wishes in the years to come!

Well I'm still not sure what you guys like (besides mountains) or what your budget is, but I spent my honeymoon in the mountains (the Alps) on the Cote D'Azur in France. The hillside towns of St Paul de Vence, Eze, Vence, Tourettes sur Loup are beautiful & the weather would be fine between Feb & May-obviously getting better the later you go. There are lots of charming b & bs to stay. You'd fly into Nice & these towns are all about 1/2 hr drive from the airport. What I don't know are the complications/legalities of getting married there. A good website to get familiar with the area is provencebeyond.com. You can go to the Europe board here & get more info too.
In the US, the Berkshires in NY state/Mass are lovely but it will be winter weather until May. Bershires.org is a good site for info.

I agree that you should ask on the Europe board, but my 2 cents are that the lake District in England is one of the prettiest places I've ever seen, and would be romantic enough for a wedding. You could then tour the country. Best of luck to you!

2 years ago I performed a wedding outside of Seattle, it was just breathtaking- the couple origianlly planned to travel up into canada...Oregon Coast is also beautiful, mind you I am from the East Coast so the thrill of the Pacific was as I mentioned breathtaking.
Vermont is also lovely, as is the rocky coast of Cape Ann (Rockport, MA) and the quetness of Nantucket / Cape Cod (off season).

For a beautiful scenic setting and a spectacular building, check out the Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs Arkansas. Whether you'd want to spend your honeymoon there is another story, but the building itself takes my breath away. Its website is thorncrown.com
