We are driving from Manchester Airport to Francestown, due west. We arrive and pick up the rental car at 5pm... any good restaurants between the 2 cities?
TIA

The airport puts you on the edge of the city and your route misses a lot of great choices. But on your route, some speak well of the Airport Diner on Brown Ave part of the Common Man chain. Expect comfort food. Then Rt101W takes you near Chen Yang Li (sp?) which is popular Chinese but a bit fancy. If you take that exit there are also some chain restaurants. We used to go to T Bones.
I think you can take Perimeter Rd around the airport to exit on South Willow St which has a lot of chain restaurants. If you want quick Chinese, there's a Grand Buffet in the shopping plaza across from the Mall of NH. If you head into the city on South Willow St, I like the Cactus Jack's. It'll be on your right.
Should you decide on better eating in the downtown area it would be best to take Brown Ave to Rt 101W then I293 North to whichever exit you need for the restaurant. You can check chowhound.com Northern New England for Manchester recommendations. Keep in mind traffic will be extremely heavy on South Willow St if it's a weekday. Manchester has some very popular restaurants and a variety of ethnic cuisines. But after a flight, if you want something more like comfort food, the Airport Diner might be best and you would be driving right by it.
Thank you! Perfect
