Looking for somewhere to go in late March that will accommodate my husband and I. We are both in our early 30's and expecting our first child. So drinking will not be involved. We are looking for something that may include:

-Semi-warm climate. Somewhere 60's or above.

-Has sights to see or museums. We don't want to be bored as we like to do things. If we go to a beach then we will more than likely be bored after two hours. A beach with things nearby would be fine.

-Not long travel time from Dallas. We are looking for less than 10 hrs flying or driving time.

-Not terribly expensive.

If anyone has any ideas please feel free to share. We are getting down to booking time and have no clue. This has been the hardest we have ever had with a destination!

Think about Vegas... lots to see, shows, good food, not too spread out... cheap hotels...cheap flights... beautiful scenery, weather should be OK.... you won't be bored and you can add some spa for the babymama... have fun

not sure how much walking you could do, but maybe Death valley or Everglades(depending on what you feel like doing.

This might sound strange, but what about a cruise. We even like the Disney Cruise with or without kids. sometimes cruises are a bargain.

What about St. Johns Virgin Islands.

If you like to hike and are able to hike. Guadalupe Mountains or Big Bend.

Personally I would pick a Caribbean destination, but that's just me. There are several islands where you can stay active. It really just depends on what kind of activities you like to do.

San Diego is also good in March. Lots of things to do there...San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park and museums, USS Midway, La Jolla, you might still be able to go whale watching and more. Last March we flew into San Diego, stayed there for a few days and then rented a car and drove to LA. We stayed there a few days and then flew out of Burbank back to DFW. It was actually cheaper to fly that way than if we had done a round trip ticket for DFW/San Diego.

You might get more helpful responses if you list some things you typically enjoy doing on vacation. There are a lot of places within a 10 hour flight or drive from Dallas.

I vote for San Diego, you could fly into LAX (cheaper) rent a car and then take your time driving down the I5 to San Diego, stopping off where ever you'd like.

There are non-stop flights to Cancun from Dallas, and the Yucatan is free of problems that plague other parts of Mexico. There is much to do on the peninsula:

Merida is a delightful and romantic city with intriguing Mayan ruins nearby.

Thanks everyone. Definitely a lot of San Diego votes! Think it's between that and DC. I have been to DC and NYC..willing to go back. Just not in the cold!

Arizona has perfect weather in March, lots to see and do. Check out Tucson, Sabino Canyon, Mission San Xavier, Az Sonora Desert Museum, Gallery in the Sun...
Several non-stop flights daily from DFW on AA.
San Diego would work too.
Can't recommend Las Vegas.

I'm in DC and a tireless advocate for visiting here. I could even support 10 days here with a few side trips. However, it's highly unlikely to be "Somewhere 60's or above". If you can accept upper 40's to upper 50's, DC may be an option.
