Where is the Fois Gras Hamburger in NYC?

I heard about a restaurant in NYC that serves a fantastic Frois Gras burger. Anyone know where to get one?

Then Daniel Boulud stepped forward with a $29 hamburger at his DB Bistro Moderne on West 44th Street, although some burger purists insist that with its interior stuffing of black truffles, foie gras and braised short ribs it is a hamburger in name only.

''It's delicious,'' said Alan Richman, the food columnist of GQ, ''but it certainly doesn't resemble any of the lousy burgers I grew up with in the Philadelphia suburbs.''

That's not surprising. It is hard to imagine a burger in Mr. Richman's neighborhood served, as Mr. Boulud's is, on a housemade bun with toasted Parmigiano Reggiano, tomato confit, chicory and fresh horseradish and a side order of habit-forming fries.

Les Halles serves a Rossini burger that is topped with foie gras and truffles.

Isn't it a lot more expensive than $29? The regular one at 21 with no stuffing is like $32.

We had the "hamburger" at DB Bistro Moderne. It was spectacular, as were the wonderful pommes frites that came with it. In my book it was well worth it. Currently at lunch it costs $32.

Congrats to Chicago for banning the sale of fois gras in its restaurants.

Yea. Veal is raised so humanely. Did you ever see them slaughter chickens? How do you think pork ends up on your plate? And for that matter, I'm sure I've hear my lettuce scream as I tear it to pieces.
Did you ever eat an omelette and wonder what would have happened to those cute baby chicks if they had been allowed to live?

Huh???

I don't eat veal and can't believe anyone would. At least when the chickens and pigs are slaughtered they're dead quicly. Veal and
Foie gras equal long suffering for calves, ducks and geese.

Have you ever seen a poultry processing plant? It's not like those Tyson chicken breasts come from chickens who are happily clucking around the red barn until the kindly farmer kills em'.

I think it's ridiculous when the government interferes with what people can and can't eat. To eat trans fat or foie gras is a personal decision.

Having different feelings from other people about what is "horrible" and what isn't does not match up with ignorance.

I still laugh at the age old joke about the woman in the deli asking what the daily special is. "Tongue on rye" is the answer. "Oh, my God, that's awaful. I'm not eating anything that came out of a cow's dirty mouth. Just bring me an omelette."

Exactly why I don't eat Tyson Chicken, or any caged chickens.

I also hate the personal choice argument, as it means nothing. Lets change one word in your argument

Why does a simple question about where to find the Foie Gras hamburger in NY have to degenerate into a debate about what is and isn't "horrible" to eat?

celfan - the title of this thread makes it very apparent what it was about. Whatever your feelings on foie gras, veal or whatever - I don't know that this was the appropriate place to start voicing your opinions, since it wasn't asked for.

Equating the choice one has over the type of meat he/she will eat for dinner to the murdering and cannibalism of Jeffery Dahmer.

Is this one of those threads people are complaining about that go WAY OFF TOPIC?

Didn't calamari ask where to get something and didn't he get an answer?
Why do we have to go into a tirade about eating habits of people? What does that have to do with the question asked?

Sorry, chepar, I see you already voiced that same opinion. I had my post started before you posted so didn't see yours, and got busy with something else before coming back here to finish my post.
