My husband and I will be visiting Acadia National Park as a day trip from Camden, Maine in October. We'd like to take one hike in the area (or a couple shorter ones) and we'd like to know which one, if you could only pick one, would be your favorite? We're in our 50's and in fairly good shape and are fairly experienced hikers. Thank you!

First-time to NYC Trip Report as promised!

It's difficult to choose just one, but maybe Cadillac Mountain South Ridge Trail. Last time we were up we went up this trail, then down the North Ridge trail, but most times we've gone back down the same way. Looking forward to doing it again this Sept.

Thank you elberko.
No more hikers out there?
Perhaps everybody else is there hiking right now!
I know there have been previous threads on the subject...

we are not exactly hikers but the "hike" around Jordan Pond followed by lemonade and popovers on the lawn is one of my favorite things in life to do.
My very energetic daughters love the hike up the Bubbles, also followed by lemonade and popovers on the lawn at the Jordan Pond House.
Our demographic profile matches up well, so I'll recommend Jordan Cliffs Trail. The views of Jordan Pond, consistent on the ascent, are magnificent. There are a few rungs and ladders and walkways, which are a lot of fun, too. It's one of the hikes recommended here:
