What's the temp and humidity like in Charleston?
We are visiting Charleston and Savannah June 14 to June 18. What kind of weather conditions can we expect? Also, any suggestions of where to stay in these cities?

uggh - HOT and HUMID with afternoon showers that often increase the humidity...it's just that time of year. Just plan to be on the beach as much as possible and do your walking around in the evening once the sun goes down.

Right now it is about 85 degrees with 100% humidity.
Plan on very hot, very humid, and very sticky with thunderstorms every afternoon.
Stay in the historic district in both Charleston and Savannah.
What is your budget?
For middle of the road hotels in Charleston, I like the King Charles Best Western and The Doubletree.
In Savannah I like the Hyatt.

Your trip is in one week. You can get 10-day weather forcasts at www.weather.com. While I wouldn't expect it to be very acurate 10 days out, it should give you an idea of what to expect.
And if you don't have a place to stay yet, you should start making inquiries ASAP.

I live in N Calif where we get 100F+ and 22% humidity in the summer but I have traveled in the South so do know about humidity. Well - last July I spent a weekend in Charleston and the 83F on Saturday was absolutely the hottest most unbearable I have ever experienced.
No need for a jacket - more likely you'll need to change clothes 3 or 4 times a day . . . .
