I will be staying in Birmingham, Alabama for Labor Day weekend and was wondering what would be open on Monday. Any suggestions?
Any special events this weekend?

Visionland will be open. They have a water park and an amusement park. High school and college football games will be happening and that is where lots of people will be going. I am going south to Gulf Shores for a final beach trip. There are plenty of great shopping centers around and wonderful restaurants. Tell me your interests and I will give you more information.
I enjoy museums, memorials, little hole in the wall shops, local hangouts.

The Birmingham Museum of Art is open Labor Day as is the Alabama Veterans Memorial near Liberty Park on I459. Shops that are fun to look at include many on the Southside of town. These include a quaint, eclectic mix of various content. Lots of antique stores around downtown and also resale shops in Cahaba Heights area nearby. Homewood has a nice downtown shopping experience as well. Check out Old Towne in Helena. Just ask around where you are staying and I am sure they will give you lots of neat ideas. For nightlife, try the Lakeview area or Southside which are popular with the locals.
The Art Musuems website says they are closed on Mondays.
