My son will be going to overnight baseball camp for a few days at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, at the end of July, and I'm trying to plan what to do without him while he's at camp and what sites to see with him before and after (late July/early August). What sites does anyone recommend in or around Lewisburg? We'll have a car and don't mind driving 3 hrs in any direction. We're from California and will probably visit family in Philly at the front end of the trip, and then go to Manhattan for a few days after his camp. (We'll either fly into Philadelphia or Newark depending upon what we schedule before and after.) Thanks!
What to visit near Lewisburg, PA

We've only been through that area. Have you googled it? It looks like it has a nice downtown historic area.
Unless Newark is a lot cheaper, fly to Philadelphia. I presume that you will be renting a car there for your trip to Lewisburg.
The amusement park I usually took my kids to when I lived in Union County PA was Knobels Grove near Elysburg PA. http://www.knoebels.com/
The home of Little League Baseball is about 25 miles north of Lewisburg in South Williamsport. The Little League World Series will be in late August.
There is a nice State Park in the west end of the county on Rt. 192 (R.B. Winter). Stop at the visitor information stand near the Country Cupboard restaurant north of town.
Return the rental car where you rented it and take the train into NYC. You don't really want to drive a rental car into NYC and pay for parking.
Corning NY is about 100 miles away. The Corning Museum of Glass is world-class.
