What to see/do from north Texas area to SD (Mt. Rushmore area)

Jump to last reply

We are taking two of our grandkids (both 10, cousins) to SD in June. We are driving from North Texas through OK, KS, and NE to Custer. We have a good idea of what we want to do once we get to Custer where we've rented a cabin and have a long list of things to do.

We will drive approximately 8 hrs for two days to get there and would really appreciate advice on good places to stop, eat, see. We figure that York, NE should be about half way and have reserved the Hampton Inn for one night there.

We are stockpiling movies, books, games, iPad, iTouch, as we hear it's a long boring drive.

Thanks in advance for any ideas, suggestions, hints. We want this to be a great trip for all four of us.

Sandy (in Denton)
