What to do on a Monday in Dallas/Fort Worth

Oh no! We're going to be in Dallas this weekend & will be busy with events, but I convinced my husband to stay two extra days & now I've found out that all the museums are closed on Mondays. Since we've already seen the JFK things, what ever can we do on a Monday? Just wait until hubby finds out that most places are closed.
Do you have any suggestions? We want to stay in D/FW . Also any helpful hints about returning a car to the airport there?

Just have another question. This one about cars. We don't need a car until early Sunday morning. Is it possible to rent a car at one location & then return it to the airport several days later? We're staying near the Galleria Mall. I think that's in the Northwest area.
Would it pay to just take a cab to the car rental place on Sunday morning or have the car rental place deliver a car to us at the hotel? Do you know of any rental places nearby? Thanks.

Mornin', Travelegs! Welcome to Texas!

Have you been to the Ft. Worth Stockyards, including the Cowboy Hall of Fame?

Or the Dallas Zoo?

Both are open on Mondays.

Travelegs - I know there are rental places in the area. I believe Sears at Valley View mall has rental cars. There is an Avis on Addison Road. There are more, I just can't think of them right now. You may do a Google search on rental cars in Addison, TX.

There's also an Enterprise Rental on Dallas Parkway in Addison. Don't know what's open on Sunday.

FYI - Addison is about a mile from the Galleria.

Kopp has good Fort Worth suggestions.

You should be able to rent a car at the Addison airport which is right by the Galleria.

All the museums are closed? What about the Sixth Floor Museum?

Travelegs......There is a Hertz location at the Westin Galleria. But it is open 12-4pm on Sundays.I have picked up a car there and dropped @ DFW with no drop fee.Your best bet might be the Avis location on Addison Road, directly across from Addison Airport, north of the areda you will be staying.I have picked up a midsize car on Sunday (they open @8am) and it was like $22.99 per day with no drop fee to leave it at DFW.You might look at Enterprise but last time I tried they would not let me leave it at any other location other than where I rented it.From any othe hotels in the Galleria area, it shouldn't be more than a 15minute cab ride. They may even have a courtesy shuttle for free, just ask.Good Luck!

Thanks koop & others for your replies. Can someone tell me something about the Stockyards. Is it 'real' or just a tourist attraction. Not interested in something that would be too honky. Is this a working stockyard? Are there nice restaurants in the area?
