I'm going to Biloxi, Mississippi for the weekend at the end of October. Does anyone have suggestions as to what to do other than gambling? Restaurant suggestions? We don't golf.

We were there 7 or 8 years ago, just as it was starting to build up. Went to this "italian" restaurant on a pier. Thank goodness the power went off! We left and tried this hole-in-the-wall with a gorilla on the sign out on the road. Low concrete block building, semi-paved parking lot. FANTASTIC FOOD and service! Recommended it to a friend who had business in the area. He loved it as well! Haven't been back in the area since. It's worth checking out!
Mary Mahoney's is a great restaurant directly across the street from the Beau Rivage. I ate there not long ago and can highly recommend it.
I'd suggest a visit to Ocean Springs which just across the bridge from Biloxi. It's a quaint town unspoiled by the neon of the casinos. There are a lot of galleries and nice shops downtown. I highly recommend the Walter Anderson Museum along with Sheerwater Pottery which was his home.
hi, i really liked the museum and gallery that was devoted to George Ohr, the mad potter of biloxi. cool exhibit of his stuff plus more contemporary stuff in gallery space. Mary Mahoney's is an old-fashioned white-tablecloth restaurants, good service and nice setting but food was a little old-style for my tastes. If you aren't staying at Beau Rivage, go check it out anyway _ they have several decent restaurants (i actually liked their sushi bar) and a nice spa and it's probably the prettiest resort/casino in town. I think the cirque du soleil production there is gone, though...
I'd like to second the advice from Meg about Ocean Springs and especially the Walter Anderson Museum. Mr. Anderson had one of the most original and, oddly enough, most authentic vision of a region's fauna and flora that you will ever see. A unique aspect of the museum is the attached town hall containing a set of intoxicating wall murals. The people of Ocean Springs continue to use the hall for all of the normal small town activities amid all of this beauty, making the place very special. For this reason you should call ahead to make sure that the town hall will not be off-limits during your visit due to a local event. More information is available at the museum website at wama.org.
