What time is it?
An important part of planning a vacation is time. I am confused about the time in each area I will be in.
The main places I will be in are Vegas, zion, page, monument valley, Albuquerque, Arizona driving back to Vegas. I understand some places change the clock and others don't - what about Navaho time? I will be out end of sept - early oct. Thanks for the help.

Except Nevada, those are places in the "Mountain Time" zone. The outlier is Arizona which doesn't comply with daylight saving time. So in summer/fall, when the clocks are forward, Arizona is the same time as California while the rest are an hour later. In winter/spring, an hour later.
Nevada is Pacific time, same as California. So, for your purposes in the fall, Nevada and Arizona will be the same time, the rest an hour later.

The state of Arizona is always on Mountain Standard Time, so like LA in summer, Denver in winter, exception the Navajo Nation which does observe Daylight Savings time. Now if AZ would just go with the rest of the nation , it wouldn't be so confusing. Dark at 7:30 pm in the summer too.

Residents of Arizona just like it that way so it's isn't likely to change, nothing whatever to do with CA. They like the thought of being contrary and don't like the idea of changing anything they don't have to, including their clocks.
Maybe the wannabees are newcomers from CA and no one pays any attention to them. Can't tell you how many times I heard new arrivals say "you know what this town needs...(fill in the blank)". Came to a place that's different, then work to make it just like the place they left.

In Nantucket, we call them "point rounders". They come around Brant Point on the ferry and start telling us how things should be done. Maybe some of 'Em winter in AZ.

I see your wink, Lee Ann, so I won't get started. Having been related by marriage to an A-list NM politician of some years back, as you can imagine, it might get ugly and I'd best keep quiet. I'll just say, NM does have it's surface beauty.

I don't even understand what that means.
We here in NM, don't take ourselves all that seriously. Glad I made you all laugh, though your really have to know what the AZ mentality is like. Hard to make that call from the east coast of FL. And for the record, the temps in many areas in AZ do not drop 30 degrees at night, not in Phoenix anyways.

Mechem served only in the executive branch of state government. The other 2 were federal.
