What part of the island to stay in September
I am planning trip to Kaui in September. I am not sure what part of the island to stay in. I like swimming beaches, beaches for snorkeling, etc. However, I do plan to travel about the island and see the sights. I want to stay at a condo and hope to spend around 100 to 120 per night for two. Recommendations for what part of the island (north or south shore or the eastern side) and good condos (nothing luxurious, just clean and roomy) will be much appreciated. Thank.

We stayed in Poipu Beach.
Stouffers something or other and it was medium priced. The properties in Princeville seemed high priced at the time.
We were centrally located in Poipu. One day we went out, turned right and saw all there was to see. Next day we turned left and did the same. The beaches were adequate and the snorkeling was interesting. Lots of eels.

Aloohaaa,
Since you're looking to be active on Kauai, I'd suggest looking for a place to stay on the East/CocoCoast area of Kauai from the Radisson on down to say Pono Kai. Since you're going in Sept. you should be able to find some good deals in your price range. And if you're in a condo, the Safeway is nearby.
It's also a good location since you're about 30-45 mins to Hanalei/P'ville to the North, about the same to Poipu and around 60 mins. to "the end of the road" at Polihale.
Good luck,
Kal

We were in Kauai Sept 01 and found the weather to be fine for any part of the island. I have found that for the money you want to spend you might consider this ocean front condo complex:
Wailua Bayview Condos. http://www.wailuabay.com/ OR http://www.prosser-realty.com/data/kauai/rentals/prosser/wailua.html
Kauai Revealed suggests views are not as good for units ending with 01 or 03.
I have read many good reviews about this place on another forum and considered it for my last visit.
