What would you say is the best non musical? We are interested particularly in a show that has quality staging, lighting, effects, etc. Any suggestions. Does anyone know anything about Metamorphasis?
What is your favorite non musical show playing in NYC this weekend?

Proof
Frankie & Johnny at the Clair de Lune, starring Edie Falco and Stanley Tucci. But, get tickets right away!
Proof would be a good second choice.
Take Me Out at the Public on Lafayette. Warning - male nudity - full monty, but the show is great & heading to B'way in January. Great writing (if a bit wordy), acting, and baseball metaphors.
Otherwise - Proof
I was thinking about just showing up an hour or so before a show (sunday matinee) for rush tix. Am I crazy?
an hour before a broadway show you'll get tickets but unlikely rush tickets. usually unused house seats at the full price. Many of the non-musicals are available on the TKTS line.
Hi! I saw "Metamorphoses" this past spring. It was excellent! It really should have won the Tony Award for best play. The seats at the Circle Theatre are arranged in a U-shape. There really is not a bad seat in the theatre. If you are willing to sit in the first row, I believe those seats sell for $35. If you go to www.playbill.com and sign up for their Playbill Club (it's free), you can print off a coupon for $50 orchestra seats (regularly $75). This coupon is good through 11/27 but cannot be used for Saturday evening performances. Someone on this message board recommend "Proof." It's a good play, think "A Beautiful Mind." However, "Metamorphoses" is even better.
You should be able to get discount tickets for both Proof and Metamorphosis at TKTS for a Sunday performance.
Metamorphoses was excellent! We sat in the middle of the third row back which was good, no one got wet
The "story" comes from the Ovid, but don't let that put you off, it is brilliant and entertaining and not ordinary in any way. There is humor and drama.
Do try to see it!
