What is the best resort in the Palm Springs area for children?
We are thinking of going in October with our 4 yr old. Any recommendations on the best resort with the best pool area for kids? Thank you!

The Rennaisance Esmarelda has a sandy beach area at one end of their pool and a gradual slope for the young ones. Also has a waterfall area on one side. The best part is that it has a palapa (sp?)bar for mom

I think La Quinta Resort is a great place for kids. Lots of large and small pools to choose from - should be easy to find one near your room that is not crowded. Also, beautiful grounds with flowers and lemon trees and rambling grassy areas to play. Many rooms have large, private doored patios large enough for a 4 year old to play (try a starlight casita). I think you can go to laquintaresort.com to take a look.

The Westin has several pools, including a pool with a small water slide that kids love. I don't know if your four year old would be quite old enough for it though? If so, it would be fun. The Westin also heats all their pools so the water can be enjoyed even on a relatively chilly evening. All in all, a child friendly hotel. Located very near the children's museum too, a fun place to spend a couple of hours.
One caveat on La Quinta, especially if your child is not a good swimmer and/or is prone to wander off ----- with all the different small pools around, you will need to keep a close eye on your kid when you are out enjoying the grounds. For water safety, you are relying on other guests remembering to close the various pool safety gates. Should you decide on La Quinta, I totally agree that the starlight rooms are the way to go if they are in your budget. The regular rooms are nothing special for such an expensive resort and seemed a bit dark and small to me.
