what is closest airport to Los Altos, Ca?

Hi: I'll be traveling to Los Altos, Ca. Can anyone tell me which airport is closest to it, and suggest a decent hotel nearby? Thanks.

You can fly into San Fran or San Jose. Los Altos is a little closer to the SJ airport but I would be interested more in flight times and prices. Sorry, no hotel to suggest.

San Jose would be closer.

I don't think there are any hotels in Los Altos. Your best bet would be to look at staying in Palo Alto, which is about a mile to two miles or so north. There are numerous places to stay along El Camino Real. We've had good experiences with the Creekside Inn. There is a Residence Inn, a Courtyard and a Crowne Plaza as well. Further up towards Stanford and Menlo Park there is a Westin and a Sheraton.

In Los Gatos, about a 15-minute drive from the San Jose airport, you could stay at the Garden Inn, a pleasant place with excellent Internet access. Los Gatos is a charming town with excellent restaurants and fine shopping.

Don't forget that Sunnyvale is simply on the other side of Hwy 85 from Los Altos. That highway serves as a border to both cities. There are plenty of hotels in Sunnyvale.

I have friends in Palo Alto (close to Los Altos). They find it equally convinient to get to and from SJC and SFO. They choose which ever airport has the best flight schedule and/or price.
