What city on the gulf with kids?
Hi , my extended family and i want to rent a house walkable to a beach and a downtown or nearby things. I have never been to FL and i know we are crazy to go in the summer but we can get a decent price on airfare etc. Can anyone recommend any beach cities with walkable downtowns with fun stuff to do for kids!?? Kids are 6 and under

You aren't crazy going to Florida in the summer because it is no hotter there than anywhere else in the South, Mid Atlantic, or Midwest.
Try Seaside Florida.

Siesta Key, Sanibel, Anna Maria Island, St. Pete Beach ... I like all of these. I really like Anna Maria Island b/c it's so family friendly and not as expensive as a lot of places. Lido Key is great because you can walk to St. Armands Circle, but I'm not sure how expensive it is. Sanibel is simply amazing, with tons of wildlife and really fun restaurants. Etc.
