"Italy for the Gourmet Traveler", by Fred Plotkin

"Italy: Instructions for Use, The Personal, On-Site Assistant for the Enthusiastic but Inexperienced Traveler", by Nan McElroy

Can you tell where I'm going later this year? Both were recommended to me by Fodorites.

Gave: "The Perfect Mile" and "Cold Mountain", not travel books, but really good ones!

1,000 Places to See Before You Die by Patricia Schultz
I'm Too Young to Be Seventy by Judith Viorst
Just Hand Over the Chocolate and No One Will Get Hurt by Karen Scalf Linamen
What an assortment--travel, chocolate, and youth (or at least a young attitude).

I didn't receive any books, but I did receive a new laptop from my hubby. I am having fun searching the web for travel info on our upcoming trip to St Lucia. Also, I received a gift certificate to Boarders so will have fun browsing for new books.

Happy New Year.

Deb,
Fred Plotkin's book is excellent. It is a very complete and usable book about regions, food, eating and restaurants in Italy.

Where in Italy are you going?

The Wicked Traveler (five wicked phrase books in one naughty volume!)

Should be some fun reading. Also the Lonely Planet wall calendar, which has some spectacular photography.

I received a gift card for a bookstore and I have no idea what I will buy. I already have a backlog of books to read.

I will admit---I got a couple of cheaper books on a NYC street and am enjoying reading them---they are about one of my favorite disc jockeys---Wendy Williams!

My day to day Italy desk calendar from my hubby. Last year it was a surprise, this year I made the request. (but then felt bad after for I feared he might not be able to find one again, lol)

Bill ~ you are going to LOVE Italy.
