YES YES YES. We were in Kona last February and Maui the year before. Did not do a whale watching trip in Kona, but you can see them from the beach in most cases. We stayed at Mauna Lani and they are active in that area. All the trips pretty much go to the same areas. Maui, off Kaanapali, is unbelievable for whale watching. The Channel between Maui and Lanai is the just loaded with whales. This is the birthing and mating grounds for the whales.
All the hotels can advise on the operators to use.
