Westin City Center - DC

I think that this is the hotel that I am going to get via Hotwire. Pure supposition of course.

Thoughts on it? Seems to be in a great location......

You saw that as a 3.5* "Customer Favorite" on Hotwire right? Based on your other posts, I think you're going 9/6-9/10, and I see rates of $117 (which may be a few dollars off what you see) on Hotwire.

Yes, that is most likely the Westin.

It used to be a Wyndam, and just became a Westin not long ago. Only rated #51 on Tripadvisor based on 14 reviews. Seems like they still have some kinks to iron out.

Yup! You got it. I got the Westin for a rate of $109. Not far off the internet rate but oh well. I was getting sick of doing hotel research.

The reviews I read on Tripadvisor were pretty decent. It seems that the construction/remodeling has been completed for the most part.

We shall see. I kind of came to the realization that we will not be in the room too much anyway so all of the stress I was putting myself through was pretty silly. I got the general location I was looking for & the hotel doesn't look too bad!

Can't wait to get to DC!

It's a good location, it's is being redone now that Westin has taken over, it is a great rate. Seems Win Win Win to me. People fret too much over reviews, especially when the price is right.

That isn't there any more. It is a Rennaisance. The City Center is the old Wyndham near M and 15th.

I think youngtom is perhpas speaking of the Westin Grand (not really in foggy bottom but close). Mike, are you sure that one isn't there? The Westin Grand at 2350 M St. is still listed on the Starwood website. I stayed there recently.

The Westin Grand is still there. I assumed he was talking about the Wyndham on M Street in Foggy Bottom. My confusion.
