West Yellowstone lodging questions

I will be out in West Yellowstone for a wedding from Aug 4-8 of this year. We are flying into Bozeman and renting a car. there are at least four os us, two couples, traveling together and we may hvae a single friend with us as well.

Currently here are our options for lodging - HOTELS

Holiday Inn
$119 Standard Room, $139 King Suite, $159 Family Suite (2 rooms with 3 queen beds)

Days Inn
$89 for a King or 2 queen beds

Pine Shadow Motel
$58 Queen bed, $72 2 double beds

CABINS

Hibernation Station: (800)-580-3557
$109 1 bed/1 bath, $129 2 beds/1 bath, $169 Queen suite, $229 Family condo

Sleepy Hollow Lodge: (406)-646-7707
$84 1 bed/1 bath, $94 2 rooms and a bath

Any thoughts or ideas? I hvae also noticed that there are houses for rent, but none appear to be close to west yellowstone from what I can gather.

All four of us are more of the 4-star hotel type than the roughing it type for what that is worth.

Is the wedding in West Yellowstone? If you're looking for lodging beyond the wedding, to explore Yellowstone, I would check in the parks or the surrounding towns, such as Cody ect.

If you are 4* people you will definitely find West Yellowstone disappointing, to say the least. However, if you're just planning to *sleep* there, you may be able to tough it out.

Of the hotels you listed Holiday Inn is the nicest. Days Inn is deplorable and has a postage sized indoor pool. Literally. We thought it was a hot tub.

We stayed in the Holiday Inn in West Yellowstone 2 years in a row about 5 years ago--doubt if much has changed. The first year we got a king room with a jacuzzi and the second year we just got the king room because we spent all our time in the Park and didn't use the jacuzzi. We just ate in the town and slept there, but found the Holiday Inn very comfortable--we'd stay there again. West Yellowstone is a very, very small town--mostly hotels because of its location right at the West Entrance to the park. We didn't mind driving in the park each day (there were always animals to see on the way), but didn't go in the busy, summer season. The rooms had all the usual amenities and the restaurant was good.

Hello, we stayed at the Holiday Inn last September for 2 nights. Very nice room with a king bed, a separate sitting area with a couch and chair, and also a microfridge. Very handy! The rate I got was from their own website (not the HI website) and it included breakfast, which was a cook-to-order right off the menu breakfast, so it was great!! Lots of parking in back. And there was no problem driving in each day. In fact, there's a great river not far from the entrance that we'd see elk at each day, even saw a whole elk family (about 7) cross the river one morning in the mist. Awesome!
Would definitely stay there again.

Happy travels!

Hi

We stayed in W. Yellowstone last summer during our visit to the park. Stayed at Hibernation Sta. Wished we had stayed at the Holiday Inn.

While the cabins are nice they are in a dirt lot with no trees at all. There is little to do at night after dinner, so tv is key. They have 3 channels on their "Satelite TV". Stay at the H I not Hibernation Sta.

We stayed at the Grey Wolf inn,,,,not bad, but not great...acceptable. But we did like listening to the Wolf chorus from the Grizzly bear and wolf habitat, across the street! Wonderful IMO.

Two years ago we stayed in the Best Western in West Yellowstone and they had just refurbished it. It was spacious and it was clean. We stayed at the BW Crosswinds.

We stayed 1 night at the Fairfield Inn in West Yellowstone. It was a pretty typical Fairfield. Nice indoor pool, workout room, good continental breakfast, but most importantly...the place was clean.

The Holiday Inn in West Yellowstone was a fine place to stay, but I have no idea why they call it a Sunspree Resort. It looked like a typical Holiday Inn to me.
