We're turning 30-need a location!
Hi, The 4 of us (best friends since 9th grade) are all turning 30 next year. We are looking for the perfect location to jointly celebrate this occasion.
Some background:
Cost is a factor (less then $800 per person)
Only 3-4 days (one of us is a new Mommy)
We would like to go early summer
We want some place warm where we can relax by the pool or beach with a drink
Some place we can do some shopping and other fun things (shows, hikes, Jet skiing, nightclubs, sightseeing)
3 of us live in Michigan, the other in Europe, so some place East coast maybe-but not central Florida?
Some place without too many kids around.
I am trying to steer them away from Vegas (not my idea of a good time and they really need to venture out more Would the beaches in South Carolina fit this bill, the Charleston area?
Does such a place exist? Please post your ideas. Thanks a lot.

Here's a plug for New Orleans. Many hotels with pools, rates are lower in the summer because it will be warm, and there's PLENTY to do outside the hotel's walls. Also, cheap airfare from many US cities, particularly if you live near an AirTran or Southwest city.

If you haven't been to Charleston, it might fill your bill. If you can come before Memorial day prices, especially on lodging, will be cheaper and the weather will be fantastic. Airfares into Charleston are quite high but you can beat that handily by flying into Myrtle Beach and driving 100 miles south. There are lots of places to party in Charleston: according to my son who is 28 and knows about such things. Try the Windjammer on the Isle of Palms. Once in a while Hootie and some of the Blowfish show up unannounced (Hootie is from Charleston. Yes you can drink on the beach (I always do) but don't make it too obvious. There are many things to do as far as sightseeing goes...more than I can go into here. Contact me via E-mail if you I have other questions about Charleston because I live there (near the beach).

I just went with 4 of my Junior High friends to Cancun to celebrate 40 it was great, the price is right and so is the time frame, we had the time of our life, check into Funjet packages look at the Fiesta Americana Cancun. Have Fun!! There is nothing like a trip like that with old friends.
