Weekend in Indianapolis, any pretty drives you can suggest?

Traveling from south Florida to visit family in Indy this weekend. Any suggestions for a nice easy drive to see fall colors? Any events happening that would be worth checking out? Obviously, will have a car.

Most likely too early for color but Brown County/Bloomington are beautiful in the fall.

There are scenic drives that are centered on the many old covered bridges in Indiana. If interested google "covered bridges Indiana" and you will find scenic routes and an interactive map. The fall colors will just be starting but is still lovely countryside.

What side of Indy will you be staying? Brown County is very pretty, but it could be pretty out of your way depending on where you're staying. I love walking around Bloomington this time of year. Eagle Creek Park in Indy is also pretty in the fall. Check out around indy.com for an events calendar.

Great recommendations. We are staying downtown Marriott. Relatives all over the place. Looks like Brown county is recommended.

I believe the Park County Covered Bridge Festival is in full swing. Quite the event. Brown County is a long drive from Indy, but Park is straight West on Hwy 36.
