Hi,
Going to a Shawnee on the Delaware timeshare from Dec. 28th until Jan. 3rd. Anything anyone can recommend? Both kids ski, where's the best skiing locally? Anything going on there that might be of interest?
Thanks,
tj

Very family oriented area as it is very residential there, alot of young families with kids.
There is skiing at Shawnee as well as Camelback (further away in Tannersville).
The Crossings (outlet shopping) is also in Tannersville and the Mall is in Stroudsburg. Also on the Rt. 611 in that area are the usual big box stores that you see everywhere. There is a Walmart Super Center in East Stroudsburg. Marshalls Creek has the Flea Market on weekends.
There are movie theaters in Bushkill, E. Stroudsburg, & at the Mall in Stroudsburg. There is bowling & roller skating in E. Stroudsburg. No more ice skating nearby (used to be on the grounds of Shawnee).
Where are you spending New Years?
You will never starve in the Poconos. Mostly mediocre family restaurants. If you want a nice meal, try the Willow Tree Inn in Stroudsburg.
Thanks for the quick response! We're not sure on New Years, the kids will have friends, we may just stay in....they are 16 and 13.....might be safer, unless you know of something that might work for us?
No info on NYE. I only visit at Thanksgiving & in February (from NY). Maybe one of the resorts (even Shawnee) is having some sort of party? But I can also agree with staying in & getting take-out & some DVDs.
