Wedding and Romantic Getaway in Florida Coast

I need help planning a getaway for my girlfriend and me. We're flying to Fort Lauderdale and flying home from Miami. It will be 1 week. We have never been to Florida and going for a wedding in Miami. My budget 250-500 dollars per night. How would you plan this? I also need food restaurant recommendations if you could help me out.

The FTL and MIA airports are less than 20 miles apart. Why not choose just one airport? Are you renting a car or using public transport, Uber taxi etc?
There is a very wide variety of food in the Ft. Lauderdale and Miami area.

Uber most likely. How is the traffic does it make more sense to Uber? I am using points for the flights. As far as food how about some classy places to dine?

The FLL and MIA airports are THIRTY MILES apart, not "less than 20." I know because I live in Fort Lauderdale.

That said, yes you can use UBER between the two if necessary. Traffic on I-95 which is THE way you would travel between the two (airports) can be heavy during so-called rush hours which is why there are for-pay Express Lanes between Fort Lauderdale and Miami.

THE question is where are you going to stay? In Fort Lauderdale? In Miami? Somewhere in between the two? Do you want to stay oceanfront or elsewhere? You need to choose at some point and then when you do somebody might be able to help you.

Are you going to have transportation of your OWN or just use services like cabs or Uber to get around? Makes a difference.

Answering a few questions might help get better responses:

Where's the wedding? Will that be your base? If not, what will be your base, if any?

What are your typical restaurant budget and food preferences, if any?

What are the dates of your trip? Hotel costs, and recommendations, will vary by season.

What are your interests? Lazing on a beach? Outdoor activities? Art?

South Beach is the place... hotels on Ocean Drive are in the Deco district but are across from the beach... we prefer places on the north end of the deco district on Collins Av..

Have a look at the Royal Palm, Loews, or Surfcomber... right on the beach near Lincoln and a short walk from Ocean... no need for a car once you get dropped off...

Have fun...
