Weather in December in Orlando Florida

What is the weather in Orlando like in December? Is it in the 60's or 70's?

It could be between the 30's and 80's. You just never know.

December is only a few days away. Today (11/27/07) the daily high was about 78F-80F. Expect more of the same for the next few days with nightly lows in the low 60s.

You can get a 10-day forecast here <http://tinyurl.com/ynv833>.

Temps definitely swing at this time of year, but you can bet they will be in the 70's during the day, and it will be dry. Bring a light jacket or cardigan to wear over a t-shirt and you should be fine. (Check weather.com about 10 days out...)

In general our cold fronts aren't too severe or long lasting but you can end up with a couple chilly days (and temps can dip into the freeze zone at night). We live on the Gulf coast and recently had our first taste of "winter". Our highs were in the mid 60's but a couple days ago our highs jumped to the low 80's. So, you can see that there's no way to know exactly what the temps will be. My advice is to pack both shorts and sweat shirts - at least you won't be needing a snow suit!

But keep in mind that the center of the state (Orlando) is always warmer than the coast, usually by no more than 5 degrees, but more when major cold fronts come through. Respectfully, I can't imagine a sweatshirt being necessary in Orlando in Dec.

Actually Orlando is usually colder than the coast in the winter, and warmer in the summer. But Denise hit it on the head - winter temperatures here can (and do) swing wildly so it can be anywhere from the 30's to the 80's. It's not terribly unusual to have the heat on one day and the AC on the next.

I'd say it's typically going to be highs in the high 60's to low 70's, but if a cold front comes through it can drop much lower. And trust me - 40 degrees in Florida feels much colder than 40 degrees in a Northern climate. I don't know if it's the humidity or the wind, but I can be Up North in 40 degree weather with a long-sleeve shirt and feel fine, but here I'd have to add a coat and gloves. Any cold weather would only last a couple of days, though, so you should plan on variations.

Be sure to check the extended weather forecast before you leave, and keep in mind that even that can change day-to-day.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your visit, though, because this is absolutely the best time to come to Florida. The humidity is (usually) lower and the bugs are as close to being gone as they're going to get.

Orlando is usually colder than the coast.
The temps change so much it is hard to tell from one week to another what they will be. Best to watch the 5-10 day forecasts. I remember a few years ago we had some snow flurries right before Christmas but Temps could be in the low 80's also.
