wayne newton help
I'm visiting LV in June and want to take in a Wayne Newton show. Does anyone know if I should buy tickets in advance or just get them when I get there? Thank you.

I was warned that his voice is gone and that his show is mainly a love fest for older women who throw on stage room keys, panties and so on. I was in LV a couple weeks ago and go the impression tickets could be bought at the last minute.

Let's see now. A bunch of old women screaming, throwing their room keys and panties on stage. I think for the first time seeing the Wayne Newton show sounds like fun. I never thought it would be entertaining, but now I sort of do.

In case you haven't bought them yet, my advice is buy them early. My husband and I just returned from Vegas and we purchased them at our hotel. However, when we got to the Stardust to pick them up we were told that we wouldn't be sitting together, it was completely sold out.
In the end though, we did end up sitting together, they had received a cancellation. Timing is everything!
It's true his voice is gone, but it was great fun. We both loved it. We are in our early 40's. Have fun!

Patrick....I'm with you on this. How about we meet there (wear a tuxedo) with a selection of panties to offer these women when they realize just how foolish they have been? Sounds like a sure thing to me! ;-) Of course, it is Vegas, foolish may be the goal of the evening.

Just saw Wayne a few weeks ago for the first time and loved the show. Yes, his voice is more ragged than in his younger days, but his energy, musical instrument talent, personality and back-up band and singers more than made up for it. He is so warm and funny and made a point of getting around to shake as many hands and kiss as many of the ladies who wanted to kiss him as possible; he's so generous and supportive of his band and singers and they all seemed to have a great time up there. Hubby and I are in our late 40's/early 50's, but there was a large age-range of people in the room (early 20's - 80+) who all seemed to be enjoying themselves. I think it's worth it to see him at least once, even if just to have a quintessential Vegas experience.

Hey, my2¢, does he still start the show in a spacesuit? I still can't figure out what THAT's all about. lol
But, I thought his last show was April 20? I had heard he was leaving the Stardust with no announced plans for anew show/venue. If he is still performing in town, by all means buy tickets in advance and have a great time. His voice is not what it used to be, but that doesn't stop him from putting on one heck of show. And he still manages to hit that high note in MacArthur Park. The show is cheesy, corny and just what I expect in Vegas! Loved his show in my 30's, love it still in my 40's.

I just checked his website and he's taking a (well-deserved) break and then when he comes back he'll be at the LV Hilton. not sure why he 86'd The Stardust. I can't say I remember him wearing a space suit (and I'm sure I would've noticed that! LOL) but his hair still has lots of shellac in it and doesn't move much while he performs! Yup -- lots of great cheesy fun and I'd do it all over again!
