We saw him last year, as sort of a joke. He is so cheesy and corny that he was amusing. The members of his band were quite talented, though. It was a fun experience. If it's still in the same theatre, prepare to be packed into small tables with lots of people.

I saw Wayne Newton in Las Vegas before he died. It was in 1975 and I wasn't a fan to put it mildly. My parents told me how great his show was and that made me not want to see him all the more.
My wife and the couple we were with got tickets over my objection and we went to a late show to see him. Back then ( and maybe still today ) you got 4 drinks at the late show as part of your admission price. ( The early show you got dinner ) Well, me and my buddy ordered martinis and the waiter brings us both 4 martinis at the same time. The drinks are sitting on the table and the curtain goes up and out steps the cheesiest looking dude I have ever seen. But you know, you realize right away the guy has got charisma.
He's charming and funny and then starts playing almost every instrument in the band and the place is jumping. I couldn't believe I was enjoying it this much. Well, he went on like this for an hour or two and the tempo and level of entertainment never dropped.
It was one of the best shows I ever saw although those 4 martinis may have affected my judgement somewhat. I've never seen his show since and was sorry to hear he passed away.
