Washington DC and New Years'
My wife and I are thinking about driving down to DC over New Years. We live in NYC and are looking for something different. What is DC like during this time?

We have lived in the heart of DC for 6 years and you can always find something. Last year there was a great party at Olive's. I would suggest bookinga couple of hotels now while the price is still good and then go from there. There are cities that do first night....Anapolis and Old Town Alexandria .

I think New Years is a beautiful time to be in DC, but it will be lowkey. Late December is one my favorite times to live here because the students are gone, Congress is gone, people are travelling other places, and the town just seems more peaceful and beautiful. The decorations are still up and things are just quiet.
