Have a hotel reservation at Capital Hilton for 2 days over a weekend in June.

Mtg best girlfreind have not seen long time. Have a private Mounuments Night tour Saturday 5-9pm; suggestions for inexpesnive dinner?... they said would drop us off anywhere. We will be happy w/ any cusine but will have to take a cab back.

Need a suggestion for what to do Sunday. Have all day and thinking either Brunch (in a nice location w/view or at least maybe a nice location) or Dim Sum, and possibly a museum (something light not the Holocaust) if open on Sunday. We will have to use cabs so want to keep cost down

Noticed there is water taxi to Alexandria..would there be a decent waterfront restaurant there? Would using Old Town Trolley be more economical than cabs? If so, how would I find restaraunts on the path?

Txs for any help..haven't lived in Dc for since 1990's..so any help would be appreciated.

After brunch on Sunday, do anything you might do any other day -- museums and monuments operate approximately 362 days a year (the Phillips Collection closes on Mondays though).

As for views and good food -- sadly, they don't come together in Washington. Several places with nice views, Georgetown Harbor is one, have lackluster food, but there is very good food all over the downtown area, within a $10 cab ride of your centrally located hotel.
Suggest you look at the Tabard Inn for brunch (or dinner), good food in a very nice setting

If u r interested in Dim Sum u might give a try at Cafe Atlantico -- they have latin dim sum. They're in a great location to move on to the museums afterwards.

We are ok for anything really...but we are not Bar, Lounge Tavern people.


Something again that is a light environment with just good food...something you would go with your best girlfrind too.

Are there any Museums that serve Brunch/Lunch?

Txs MichellY..we were thinking of something out of Wash Dc..that moght work. We were also looking at hiring a car & driver and going to Annapolis...

I guess for restaurants we are more good cafes, bistros and brasseries.

Tabard Inn IS a light environment with (VERY) good food (and a very relaxing atmosphere). I strongly suggest you take another look at and call them to see if they still have a table (an outdoor table would be even better) for a weekend brunch in June.

I can also give you some ideas for an "inexpensive" dinner but first need to know what you mean by inexpensive - in dollars, including tax, tip, drinks, etc.
