Need to attend a wedding in Raleigh, NC. Didn’t plan for it initially. Looking for a very affordable way to fly or bus ride (as long as it is reasonably short) to go to NC. This would be a 2 day trip for my husband and me. Do not want to drive unless I have to.
I hear that people go to NC for weekly meetings at a shuttle fare.
Would like to get some suggestions/ideas please.
Thnx
Want to fl from NJ (Newark, ACY) or PHL to Raleigh, NG (RDU)

Sorry It should read "Want to fly from NJ (Newark, ACY) or PHL to Raleigh, NC (RDU)"
Check Southwest. They fly to RDU
I would suggest you go to the airlines' sites and enter your dates to get prices.
You could search on kayak.com for the lowest prices.
US Air and Delta fly to PHL and RDU. Have you checked their flights?
>>I hear that people go to NC for weekly meetings at a shuttle fare.<<
Have you asked them? I don't know what is considered "shuttle fare" these days but I would think you could get there and back for under $200 with a little advanced planning.
Yes I have been looking at Kayak for last few days. I see fares $249-$263/person...
Was hoping to see something like $99 RT ticket. I saw things liek that when back those golden days the NC furniture city was giving shuttle airfares to promote their business.
What dates?
I think those days are LONG gone. I never heard of them to be truthful. Southwest is probably your best bet.
You could look at Megabus. It's not a difficult drive.
Thansk a lot for the ideas. Megabus doesnt have the stops that I need for this trip. USair gives the lowest airfare $185pp.
Will check Greyhound. Yes my husban is not feeling well these days. I just dont want to end up with thw whole driving.
The trip on Amtrak would take 10.5 hours including the 1.5 hours between trains in Washington DC. There are worse places to be stuck for 90 minutes. Newark (EWR) has an Amtrak station.

Megabus leaves form D.C... but from there it is already 5 hours or more. So Greyhound from EWR area or PHL it's not going to be very "short".
You mention 2 days, I assume you mean 2 days there plus other days for travel. If you have only 2 days all together and try to do it by train or bus almost all of your time will be spent getting to and fro. So - in 2 days flying is the only option - and I can;t imagine a fare of $99 for anything in the past several years. You may have noticed that oil prices (and so airfares) have gone through the roof in the past few years - consider that when researching airfares.
