Walla Walla Wineries with Charm?

A small group of us are headed to Walla Walla this summer. I'm looking for a winery we can picnic at that has views or at least a nice feel to the picnic areas.

We've never been, so I'm leading the group blind here. Any recommendations?

Look into L'ecole 41 - think they have a picnic area - know they have great wine!

I recently came across this wine blog that has some good notes and additional links for the Walla Walla area wineries.

One spot noted for picnics is Dusted Valley Vintners on Old Milton Hwy.

I'm looking to head over to Walla Walla this spring- when does the weather start getting nice? Is early May still cold? Doesn't need to be hot but I'd like to see a bit of sun and warmer temps.

I am now looking for recommendations on where to stay in Walla Walla- I like B&Bs but don't like anything over the top Grandma like. Anyone? Can be a hotel too.

My son attends college in Walla Walla and when we go we usually stay the the Marcus Whitman Hotel. Nothing exceptional, but very nice and great breakfast included. For special occassions and if you can obtain a reservation, try the Abeja. It's a winery with wonderful cottages.
Have fun.

Stop at Walla Walla Vintners. A barn about 2 miles out of town. Wonderful wine. Casual atmosphere. In the evening enjoy dinner at Creektown Cafe or Whitehouse-Crawford.

Just updating that we had great meals at 26Brix and Saffron- actually cancelled ressies at Whitehouse for Saffron after every winemaker in town recommended it! Fabulous meal! also great lunch/brunch at Luscious by Nature.

lots of great wineries- Waters and Abeja have some of the most beautiful grounds. L'ecole 41 also.

a very cute town
