Walking/jogging in Santa Fe
I like to walk each morning, about 3 or 4 miles. I'll be staying at the Hotel Santa Fe but will have a car. Is there any nearby location which I could drive to for a scenic walk?

DH likes to drive up to St. John's College and hike either of the two trails that start at the college parking lot. Also he likes the Nature Conservancy Trail. Here's a listing of those three and other trails around Santa Fe. http://tinyurl.com/26hjmpn

We like the hiking trails at Bishop's Lodge for their proximity to us and that it's a short hike. Bishop's Lodge is about a 10-15 drive from where you are located. When you finish you can enjoy a cold beverage and snack on their patio overlooking the grounds.
The trail at St. John's is nice, Atalaya Mountain Trail, but we haven't done it in years. Reading from their website there is a 7 mile and a 4.6 mile loop so that may fit your needs.
One of our favorites is the Aspen Vista Trail in the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Take the ski mountain road (Artist Road) just off of the north end of the plaza area and head up the road past mile market 13. It's an easy hike for everyone and should provide you with beautiful scenery. This information is on the list that martym provided which is a good resource.

Also consider the possibility of just parking on East Alameda and walking up through the eastside neighborhoods to the top of Canyon Road and back down Cerro Gordo. That will be a nice long walk and you'll see how Santa Fe lives!

DH says he doesn't remember any at the Nature Conservancy Trail, Audobon Trail or in the parking lot at St. John's College where the trails up there begin. However, at St. John's the campus buildings are right there, including the student union and they have restrooms.

The "neighborhood trail" that santafesina mentions is not a public trail, it is private property. If you are interested in exploring the neighborhoods, please be careful to respect "Private" and "No Trespassing" signs. Some of the areas on the east end of Santa Fe are just too intimate and enclosed for a flux of tourists. Also, if in doubt, look at the city street signs. In NM, the public streets have green signs with white lettering, while the private streets are denoted as white city signs with green lettering.
