My husband an I are planning our first trip to Hawaii. W Hotels are our favorites and we are strongly considering the W Honolulu. Any reviews? We are interested in the following actvities while we are in Hawaii: snorkeling, scuba diving, parasailing and a visit to a volcano. Is this a good location? We don't mind driving. Thanks in advance.

The W is fine and is located in a less hectic part of Waikikki beach. I assume you are spending days on Islands other than Oahu?
Honolulu is nice..for a city. Waikikki is very developed and not completely the ideal image of Hawaii.
If you want a more tropical, less hectic environment, I suggest you hit another island.
The Princeville in Kauai is in a great location and a nice hotel.
Thanks Phil. Any recommendations on other islands? I am clueless about Hawaii. Would it be a good idea to stay at the W Hotel and visit other islands during day trips? I am not clear how people "explore" Hawaii. Thanks.
I believe the W hotel is the old colony surf call to confirm. If so it has TREMENDOUS Ocean view rooms. I would request ocean front. living room wall opens up onto the ocean. You feel like you are on a boat. The restaurant also ocean front is Michels, note worthy and gorgeous. You are in for a treat.
s, to get to an active volcano, you need to visit the Big Island of Hawaii. The W Honolulu is close to Diamond Head, which is a dormant volcano, and you can hike it in a morning.
The W is located just outside of Waikiki, away from the hectic crowds. It is also home of Diamond Head Grill, a trendy nightspot for all the "beautiful people."
Hi, I'm going to Oahu in Feb next year for the start of my honeymoon. We are ye to decide on accomadation. I have never heard of the W hotel, would anyone know what a nightly rate is? Also I'm guessing as it's near Diamond Head it would be a good 25 minute walk to Lewers St?
Cheers

The on-line only diamond head view rate in November is $196.00. The www.whotels.com site is really beautiful. You can check the rates there or at www.sheratonhawaii.com The Sheraton hawaii site is promoting a 35% of rate for Sheraton Preferred members or a 5th night free for an ocean view room. Good luck.
