VISITING TANGLEWOOD FESTIVAL
Suggestions for accommodations in Lenox or near environs for family of 3. Suite hotel, or condo a possibility?? Mid price range.
Are tickets hard to get for concerts?

The Lenox and Berkshires websites are terrific resources for accomodations in the area. Suites/condos, everything actually, are pricey in Lenox. Prices are lower in Pittsfield and other nearby towns(though not as luxe). It will be a real challenge to book "mid-price" at this late date.
Expedia is helpful for shopping the entire area, but rates must be double checked versus booking directly with the property.
Tickets are not hard to come by, for all but the most popular events, but you should book online as soon as they become available, especially for better seats.

Most places require a 2 night minimum if it is the weekend and 3 nights if it is a holiday.
We are going to see James Taylor on Friday 8/24 and the lodging prices are extreme. $345 a night at a Holiday Inn express. We did get the Pilgrim Motel in Lee for $185 for 1 night.
Try for Pittsfield...there is a Holiday Inn and a Radison there otherwise you are looking at motels or B&B's. Google "berkshire lodging" and you will find a list.

Also, be very careful if you book with small motels you find on-line- be sure to get the confirmation with price in writing. We almost got burned last summer driving from Boston for a concert, staying in a small motel outside of Lenox I think where they tried to switch our rooms, saying they were "full" and double the price. Luckily I had my confirmation in writing, raised a small stink and got our confirmed price (while the wife glared at the husband who must of thought they could get away with this). Prices are very high-even at this motel with a tiny, no-frills room we paid about $130 or so for one night.

If you are planning to see the Symphony, tickets are not hard to get at all. Check out bso.org for the schedule and on-line tickets.
you said family of 3...if you are taking a small child you might want to get lawn tickets, which you can generally buy at the gate.
Tickets for James Taylor, or for Tanglewood on Parade can be a little harder to get.
You might consider the Oak n Spruce resort. Its got small suites and I think the prices aren't too bad. Sister-in-law stayed there last year and liked it. I believe its in West Stockbridge and is definitely not far from Tanglewood.
