Visit to Michigan City

We have an opportunity to meet with some old friends who are visiting in Michigan City, Indiana this summer. We were hoping to find a good place for brunch,but I hear there isn't much to Michigan City, except for the outlet shopping.

Any suggestions for breakfast or lunch in the area?
