Visit to bend, oregon
In October my husband and I are staying at Sunriver near Bend,Oregon. We need some ideas on resturants in the area. We enjoy all kinds of food. Need at least one place for a special dinner, also good breakfasts.
Thank You.
Thank You.

When I was in Bend on a business trip this past April, I had a very good meal at Giuseppe's Ristorante (932 NW Bond St). I ordered the gnocchi, which is served crispy with grilled leeks, mushrooms, and a three cheese sauce. Very rich, but worth it. They have a website:

I also ate at Merenda (900 NW Wall St), which has a decent wine bar. It is an attractive restaurant, with a very open layout. The drawback is that when it is packed, it is also very noisy and difficult to hear any dinner conversation. I'm not a wine drinker, so I can't comment much on that.

Living in Portland, OR, I've been to Bend and Sunriver quite a few times. The lodge has an excellent restaurant in the main dining room. Because of the view and the menu, I would recommend that place for your special dining location. A place in Bend I can recommend for Italian is Ernesto's. They renovated an old church into a cute reastaurant. Have fun. Lot's to do at Sunriver. Try something different and take the ATV tour...and don't get lost on the bike paths. Hundreds of them.
